What really matters to Jesus?

Acts 15

Questions:

1. What stood out to you in the message?

2. What were some of the extra-biblical rules that you were expected to follow in church?

3. Pastor Chad taught about the three categories of Old Testament Law: Moral, Civil, and Ceremonial. Have you ever heard this before? How does this affect your understanding of Old Testament Law in light of Jesus’ fulfillment of that Law?

4. Why do people struggle to truly believe that one is saved by the grace of Jesus alone (versus Jesus + baptism, attendance, morality, etc.)? What “Jesus + ____” teachings have you heard taught? Why are they unbiblical?

5. What does Acts 15 teach us about what really matters to Jesus? How does that affect what we value and how we live our lives?

6. Pastor Chad explained some of the things that really matter to Jesus: grace, leading every generation to the life-changing hope of Jesus, loving God, loving others, and living out the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). While this list is not exhaustive, how does your life reflect these values? What comes easy, and what is difficult?
