2. Growing up, who was the authority figure in your family? How was discipline handled?
3. How are followers of Jesus to act toward the government?
4. In the Apostles’ day and early centuries of the church, persecution was normal for followers of Jesus. Many lost jobs, freedom, family, friends, etc. for their faith. What risks do you take for your faith?
5. The Bible never calls for us to fight for our freedoms, but rather to use our freedom or lack of freedom to help others see the salvation of Jesus. What conditions make it difficult to submit to this Biblical teaching?
6. Jesus forsook His freedoms in order to die for your salvation. How can Jesus’ example help you face hardships that you cannot change?
7. Read Titus 3:1-9. Why is this passage so difficult to follow for today’s culture? What elements of today’s church culture make this difficult?
