1. What stood out to you in the message?
2. What does it mean to live as a citizen of the USA? What does it mean to live as a citizen of the Kingdom of God? How does your citizenship affect your life?
3. Do you find it difficult to “do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourself”? How would the church and the world be different if we truly lived this way?
4. How should Jesus’ humility encourage us to live selfless lives focused on God and others? What should that kind of life look like?
5. Why is the exultation of Jesus (Phil. 2:9-11) be important to us today?
6. There is a HUGE difference between what our culture thinks (“work for your salvation”) and what Jesus thinks (“work out your salvation” – Phil. 2:12-13). What is the difference between these two statements, and why is it important that know and live out that difference?
7. Jesus is at work when we live our lives for Him. In other words, our work is magnified and made effective by His work in our work. How does this encourage you to follow Jesus and His commands?
