W. Berry Norwood, Lead Pastor

Pastor Norwood provides a relaxed leadership style that encourages ministry leaders and participants to discover their own giftedness and agendas from prayer. He desires to equip and encourage people to be "on mission" with the Savior. His public teaching manner includes sincerity, humor, and multimedia to communicate spiritual and practical truth from Scripture.

Berry is an "oldies" buff (both movies and music). He also enjoys some of the good current productions--especially drama and adventure. He loves doing theological research as a hobby and tries to swim and play basketball more than he really gets to! He and his wife Nancy have been married since 1969.

Congratulations to Rev W. Berry Norwood, pastor of the First Southern Baptist Church of Scottsdale, AZ, who was awarded the degree of Doctor of Sacred Theology Summa Cum Laude on November 12, AD 2007.

Keith Matney, Associate Pastor

Keith enjoys creating worship settings that are both celebrative and meditative. Utilizing a choir, platform instrumentalists, gifted soloists, group Scripture readings, testimonies, etc., he leads people to recognize the very presence of God through music. He believes the people of God should provide local, community-impacting ministries, as well as be "on mission" in the larger world.

Keith and his wife, Kathy, have been married since 1983 and have three boys- now young men. In his free time, what he loves most is simply hanging out with his family- whether that's golfing, playing basketball, attending musical productions, watching movies, or cheering at his kid's athletic events. Kathy aspires for Keith to become a great ballroom dancer someday!
